Delivering Recordings to Clients

Category: For Coaches Reading time: ~2 min

Overview

Once you have generated and exported an audio recording, TheraScripts' role is complete — the delivery step is entirely in your hands. This article covers your options and the key considerations for each.

Export format

Audio is exported as a standard MP3 file. The file is named based on the session title you set. File sizes are typically 30–80 MB for a full 30-minute session, depending on voice and audio settings.

Delivery options

Email attachment

The simplest approach. Suitable for clients comfortable with email. Bear in mind that some email services have file size limits (Gmail: 25 MB; Outlook: 20 MB). For longer recordings, use a sharing link instead.

File sharing link (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive)

Upload the MP3 to your preferred file storage service and share a link with the client. This handles file size limits and allows you to update or replace the file without resending.

WhatsApp or messaging platform

For clients who prefer messaging over email. MP3 files send cleanly over WhatsApp and most messaging platforms. Check file size limits for the platform you use.

Practice portal or client area

If your practice management software has a client portal or document area, you can upload directly there. This keeps all client resources in one place and avoids personal email.

Shared folder

A simple shared folder (Google Drive, Dropbox) per client is a lightweight alternative to a full practice portal. Give the client view-only access to their folder.

Considerations for professional use

  • Labelling — Name the file clearly (e.g., client-a-relaxation-session-march.mp3) to avoid confusion if the client has multiple recordings.
  • Versioning — If you update a recording, make clear to the client which version to use.
  • Licensing — Pro and Studio plans include the right to share recordings with the named client for their personal use. Commercial distribution requires a separate licence available through the platform.
